Want to research your family history, but aren't sure where to start? Join us for a beginner class that will introduce you to the free genealogy databases available at the library.

Did you know that your Lake Agassiz Regional Library card offers you free access to genealogy databases? Join library staff for a class that will teach you how to navigate these databases, which include Ancestry.com (Library Edition) and FamilySearch.  

Attend this class to learn how to access:

  • Historical records from countries around the world
  • Family trees with billions of names 
  • Even more historical records on-site at the library than you can view at home
  • And much more!

About the branch

The Detroit Lakes Public Library is located in downtown Detroit Lakes at the intersection of Washinton Ave. and Frazee Street. The library offers two meeting rooms, four study rooms, a legal kiosk, free Wi-Fi and much more.
