The Science of Sleuthing
with Northern Lights Council, Scouting America
Wednesday, July 15
1:00pm - 3:00pm
Calling all junior gumshoes and master sleuths; a "timeless" mystery has landed at the library, and we need your help to crack the case!
Have you ever wondered how detectives find invisible clues? A "timeless" mystery has landed at the library, and we need your help to crack the case. Join us for an action-packed summer adventure where the world of Sherlock Holmes and Nancy Drew comes to life through the (slightly messy) world of forensic science.
Based on the Cub Scout Bear Forensics program, you’ll learn to lift "secret" fingerprints with nothing but a pencil and tape, unmask suspects using "ink chromatography," and identify mysterious white powders using the same science as Encyclopedia Brown. Whether you're a Kindergarten "Detective-in-Training" or a 6th-grade "Lead Investigator," there are puzzles waiting just for you!
