Sonja Mertz from the MN Alliance on Problem Gambling will discuss how to be aware of gambling risks and practice harm reduction, to help you have fun and stay safe.

Sonja Mertz, Community Educator for the Minnesota Alliance on Problem Gambling (MNAPG), will be here to share information about gambling trends in Minnesota, including: sports, online betting, and sweepstakes; how to spot gambling scams; the signs of problem gambling; the basics on gambling addiction; and, tips on how to reduce the harms of gambling behavior.

Mertz is a Certified Prevention Professional. MNAPG, an affiliate to the National Council on Problem Gambling, is a non-profit, gambling-neutral organization dedicated to improving the lives of Minnesotans affected by problem gambling, with a belief that problem gambling is both treatable and preventable.

Senior Social is a weekly event at Moorhead Public Library, with special programs monthly. The meetups are free-of-charge, with refreshments provided by the Friends of the Moorhead Library.
