Help your child develop exceptional reading skills by bringing them to Storytime. Join us the busy first two weeks of July with our Sun & Sky STEM theme Storytime.

With the 4th of July holiday weekend followed the next week by the Polk County Fair we are hoping for some sunny days for a free flowing STEM theme. We have some great STEM kits visiting the library. There will be a Sunspotter refracting telescope to let us draw the sun to see if the sun spots move from week to week. Solar Telescope and Sunoculars will be available to look at the sky during the day.

Please remember not to look at the sun without proper eye protection like a welding helmet—regular sunglasses aren't strong enough.

Request some books about the sun & solar system.

About the branch

The Fertile Public Library is tucked inside the Duane Knutson Community Center on Mill Street across the street from the Main Street Station & Deli. The Fertile Library is a large one-room library with access to a small meeting room and auditorium that can be reserved through the city office and 24-hour access to WiFi.
