Learn about the ways locals used the Red River for fun in the past, why many of them quit and how river-borne recreation is coming back.
Join us for "Recreation on the Red - Then and Now," a presentation by Clay County Archivist Mark Peihl. From the mid 19th century to the early 20th century, area residents used the river for recreation regularly. Later in the 1900s, many residents turned their backs on the Red and have only recently rediscovered the joys of river recreation. Find out what happened and why on Monday May 22nd at 6:30 pm.
