Join us at the Heritage House to discuss “Radium Girls” by Kate Moore
Join the Halstad book club at 11:30 am on May 19th to discuss Radium Girls by Kate Moore. We will meet at the Heritage House, 133 4th Ave E, Halstad, MN.
Radium Girls is the true story about women who worked in factories in the 1910-1920s, painting watch faces with glow-in-the-dark paint. In their work, they would lick the tips of their brushes to create a finer point, thereby ingesting radium. The events which followed highlight the corruption of factory owners and the women’s battle for worker’s rights.
