Join us for a discussion and workshop about zines, featuring the Red River Creatives Collective.
Join the Monday Meetup at the Moorhead Library for a discussion and workshop about zines, featuring the Red River Creatives Collective. The Red River Creatives Collective will present on their self-published and distributed zine "The Northern Mirror" and then demonstrate how to make a zine, so you can DIY and take it home!
"The Northern Mirror" is a collaborative zine which contains local artists' submissions to create a rich tapestry of the Fargo/Moorhead area. It has been produced quarterly since 2021. Essays, poems, reviews, photos, illustrations, and community resources are bound in the zine which is then distributed around the area for free-will donation.
A zine (pronounced "zeen") is a self-published, non-commercial print work usually produced in small, limited batches. Zines can encompass many topics, from music and art to politics or memoir, in any form: narrative, journalistic, comic, or abstract. The content may include any combination of words and imagery.
All are welcome to join the presentation and workshop. Refreshments will be provided.
