Join us to learn about the science and health effects of Cannabis, which is now legal to anyone over age 21 in Minnesota.

Cannabis (marijuana) has changed over the years. Now, it’s legally available to anyone over the age of 21 in Minnesota. Is it safe? This presentation will cover the latest science and health effects and provide information for parents and community members concerned about cannabis use.

Jason McCoy is the Tobacco Prevention Coordinator for Clay County Public Health in Moorhead, Minnesota.  He received his Master of Public Health from North Dakota State University. Jason has been working in substance prevention for nine years, building coalitions, raising awareness, and passing policies reducing tobacco’s harm. He has led efforts to pass 32 tobacco and electronic cigarette prevention policies, the latest being two local ordinances to end flavored tobacco sales.  He is currently building Positive Community Norms – working upstream to address Hopes & Concerns in the DGF school system.

In 2022, Jason opened Verity Presents, a platform to provide presentations and training regarding tobacco control, emphasizing vape prevention. He is also working on the first of a series of novels designed to offer speculative fiction related to substance prevention and other topics.
