Join us for this One Book, One Community program about a grand river adventure!
The Alabaster River in The River We Remember serves as a character unto itself. William Kent Krueger has said that he often uses rivers as characters in his stories. Every river has innumerable untold adventures and histories.
Join us as local outdoor enthusiast Berlin Nelson Jr. talks about his 235-mile canoeing adventure on a wild and scenic river along the United States and Mexico border. Big canyons, whitewater, hot springs and nasty Carrizo cane were all part of the adventure on the Rio Grande River, which begins in Colorado and flows approximately 1,900 miles to the Gulf of Mexico. Berlin is a retired professor Emeritus from North Dakota State University, and an avid outdoor adventurer.
This program is offered as part of the One Book, One Community series, inviting the community to read The River We Remember by William Kent Krueger and attend related events. Learn more here.
