Join us to learn more about engaging your memories and crafting them into meaningful personal essays.
Engage your memories and craft them into meaningful compositions during a personal essay writing workshop at the Detroit Lakes Public Library with Concordia College instructor Whitney Jacobson. Attendees will learn the basics of writing creative nonfiction, practice drafting essays, and receive constructive feedback on their drafts with the opportunity to ask publishing questions.
Whitney (Walters) Jacobson teaches at Concordia College and serves as an assistant poetry and nonfiction editor of Split Rock Review. She also regularly reviews books and conducts author interviews for the publication. Whitney holds a MFA in creative writing from Minnesota State University Moorhead and is working on a collection of essays exploring skills, objects, and traits passed on (or not) from generation to generation. Find out more about her writing at whitneywaltersjacobson.wordpress.com.
