Want to use our genealogy databases, but need some help navigating them? Join our genealogy work session to research family history with someone available to answer questions. Registration required.
Your library offers free access to a number of popular genealogy research tools, including Ancestry.com (Library Edition), HeritageQuest Online, FamilySearch, ProQuest and the Minnesota Digital Library.
If you're interested in exploring these tools with a little assistance, join the Detroit Lakes Public Library for a work session, which will allow you to access these tools with a library staff member on hand to answer questions as they come up.
This workshop is offered free-of-charge, but registration is required. Register by clicking the button on the left or by calling or visiting the library. This program will be facilitated by library staff. Be sure to bring some family information to aid in your research.
The Detroit Lakes Public Library is located in downtown Detroit Lakes at the intersection of Washinton Ave. and Frazee Street. The library offers two meeting rooms, four study rooms, a legal kiosk, free Wi-Fi and much more.
