Join us on the third Tuesday of each month to discuss popular, classic, and favorite books with our librarians. All are welcome to drop-in and share their reading experience!
Help your librarians tackle their reading lists by discussing popular, classic, and personal favorite books--and then check them off your own reading list too! The genres and themes will vary; we've got something for everyone! Our July pick is "Persuasion" by Jane Austen.
"Persuasion" follows the story of Anne Elliot, the middle child of a widowed baron facing bankruptcy. To help make money, they lease their house to Admiral Croft and his wife, Mrs. Croft. Anne discovers that Mrs. Croft is the sister to Fredrick Wentworth, the man who proposed to her eight years ago. The man she was persuaded to reject. When they meet again she realizes her feelings towards him hasn't changed... she's still in love with him. As they're thrown together in different situations, Anne asks herself, could there be hope for her yet?
If you're a fan of historical fiction, second-chance romance, and witty writing, this might be the book for you.
Join the discussion, and check a book off your reading list!
