Join us for our special Polar Fest presentation with professional musher, Joel Kersting, as he shares about his sled dog adventures in Alaska and Minnesota.

Join the Detroit Lakes Public Library for our special Polar Fest presentation with professional musher, Joel Kersting. Joel will be sharing about his dog sledding experiences in Alaska and Minnesota. Joel founded Suomi Hills Kennel back in 1993, and started dog racing in 1994. In the summer of 2004, Joel joined Alaska Icefield Expeditions in Skagway, Alaska to give dog sled tours on the Denver glacier, and continued to provide these tours until 2012. He has given many dog sled tours in the winter here in Minnesota. He and his team at Suomi Hills Kennel love being able to share the experience of dog sledding.
