Join the Halstad book club at 11:30 am on June 23rd to discuss The Frozen river by Ariel Lawhon and All We Were Promised by Ashton Lattimore. We will meet at the Heritage House, 133 4th Ave E, Halstad, MN.
The Frozen River is a thrilling historical mystery inspired by the life and diary of Martha Ballard, a renowned 18th-century midwife and healer who defied the legal system in pursuit of truth.
All We Were Promised is also a historical fiction novel set in the mid 19th century in pre-Civil War Pennsylvania. A young and wealthy abolitionist works with a housemaid with a family secret to help an enslaved girl escape.
