Create a Patriotic Paper Star
Celebrate Independence Day with a Take & Make Craft
Wednesday, July 01
1:30pm - 2:30pm
Celebrate the United States Semiquincentennial by crafting a patriotic 3D paper star!
Pick up your Take & Make kit at the Fertile Public Library.
Project Highlights
- The Theme: Celebrate the United States Semiquincentennial—the 250th anniversary of American independence—with a patriotic red, white, and blue 3D star.
- The Design: This intricate paper craft was designed by Jennifer Maker. Visit her site to find the video tutorial and see how to safely add LED fairy lights or tea lights to turn your star into a glowing lantern if you have some at home.
How to Participate
- Grab Your Kit: Stop by the library during regular hours to pick up your pre-cut star parts.
- Assemble: Use the score lines to fold and glue the points together.
- Display: These stars make excellent decorations for your porch or window to show your patriotic spirit.
Note: Supplies are typically first-come, first-served. If you're planning to enter your finished star in the Polk County Fair, make sure to keep it in a safe, dry place until entry day!
