This program will be offered in two parts, starting with an all-ages presentation geared for grades 3-8 followed by a presentation geared for an older audience, in which Hoedl will regales us with stories from his Trek.

11:00 a.m. - Johnny Avalanche and the Trek to Everest Base Camp (geared for grades 3-8)
We'll explore his children's book Johnny Avalanche and the Trek to Everest Base Camp, along with his real life journey that inspired it, and check out some of the gear Lee used along the way.

3:00 p.m. -  Trek Toward the Top of the World: Everest Base Camp (geared for adults)
Join us for an immersive experience! Hoedl will transport us to the Himalayas with photos and videos he took along the way. Hear personal stories of his journey and learn about the customs and traditions of the people he met. From Kathmandu to Lukla, we're in for a journey as Hoedl takes us along the historic trail every climber of Everest has undertaken leading to the legendary Everest Base Camp.


These programs are offered free in part thanks to funding from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage fund.
