Find the all hippo chaos in the final Story Stroll of the summer in Duckstad Woods. Enter at the corner of Christian Street and Jefferson Avenue.

The Fertile Public Library has teamed up with the Agassiz Environmental Learning Center and Polk County Public Health to offer a series of Story Strolls this summer tied to our Summer Reading Program Jungle theme. Children and their families are invited to explore the trails as they read the book pages set up along the path. The trails will be marked.

The third Story Stroll features 'Hippos Go Berserk!' by Sandra Boynton and will be up in early August in Duckstad woods until after Labor Day. The story begins quite simply, with no hint of the chaos ahead: One hippo, all alone, calls two hippos on the phone… Exuberant hippopotamus guests show up in ever-increasing numbers, until an all-night party is inevitable.

How It Works
Find the Story Stroll on the Agassiz Environmental Learning Center trail in Duckstad Woods that starts by the sports complex. The trail entrance at the corner of Christian St. and Jefferson Ave. Check the Library's Facebook Event page for any extras, updates, or changes.

Make It Count
Help us continue events like this by having everyone in your group grab a rock at the beginning to answer the question at the end of the book. We'd love for you share some pictures of you on the trail with us!

A big thanks to the Agassiz Environmental Leaning Center for hosting and Polk County Public Health's assistance in creating the Story Strolls.
