Join the library and author Cary J. Griffith to discuss his book "Gunflint Falling" and the true accounts of what happened during the 1999 storm that tore across northern Minnesota.

In 2024, the Fargo-Moorhead area will mark the 25th anniversary of the 1999 storm that bore down on the region and left a wake of damage in its path as it traveled across northern Minnesota. Join Minnesota author Cary J. Griffith to discuss his book Gunflint Falling: Blowdown in the Boundary Waters, detailing first hand accounts from those that found themselves stranded and injured in the wake of the unexpected storm. He will also introduce his latest novel, Dead Catch.

Admission is free thanks in part to funding from the Minnesota Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund.

About the branch

Join us to explore different themes with stories, songs, rhymes, flannel boards, special guests and more! Storytime typically lasts for 45 minutes and is geared for children ages 3-6, although children of all ages are welcome to join the fun. This month our theme is turtles.
